Starring: Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, Jeremy Piven Director: Doug Ellin Out: June 12, 2015  Big screen continuation of the HBO TV series, which ran for eight seasons. As before, this charts the shifting fortunes of wannabe actor-turned-star Vincent (Grenier) and the assembled friends, agents and hangers-on who make up his entourage. The principal cast of the show all return, including Piven as neurotic agent Ari Gold. Billy Bob Thornton joins the cast as a Texan oil billionaire considering whether to fund Vincent’s new take on Dracula. Haley Joel Osment plays the financier’s son, who’s sent to watch over the boys during production. Cameos include Liam Neeson as an exaggerated version of himself who drives a gold Bentley. It’s hard to see there’s anything about it that requires the big screen treatment, but it’s a quality series and fans will enjoy it. |
